FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS

• What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable clothing such as a loose top, tracksuit or shorts that you feel able to move around in easily. Physiotherapists need to visually assess you in terms of movement and posture, as well as move different areas of your body, so these should be accessible and visible. Towels will be provided.

• How long do sessions last?
Your first appointment will involve a full assessment and can take up to 40 minutes. Most follow up appointments are 30 minutes and will depend on what your treatment plan requires, however if you have any concerns about timings then you’re welcome to discuss this with your physiotherapist.

• Do you get treatment during your initial appointment?
Your first session will involve a full assessment and in most cases treatment and recommendations will be made.

• Will it hurt?
Some treatments can be uncomfortable. Your physiotherapist will give you clear guidelines on what to expect during and after treatment and what is a normal reaction. If you have any concerns, then you should speak to your physiotherapist immediately.

• Is parking available?
There is pay and display parking right in front of the clinic. Council operated FREE parking 2 minutes away on Osidge lane, opposite pizza hut. Side roads have plenty of free parking available.

• How many sessions will I need?
Your physiotherapy treatment is tailored to your individual needs, so it is not possible to advise in advance how many sessions will be required. At your first appointment your physiotherapist will suggest the number of treatments you will require based on your assessment findings.

• Can I stop treatment any time?
Yes, you can stop your treatment at any time. However, we do recommend that you complete the planned treatment course as some effects are temporary and require repeated session to have a long term impact.

• When are cancellation fees charged?
A cancellation fee will be charged if you do not attend an appointment without notice or cancel an appointment with less than 24 hour notice.

• Is there any discounts or offers?
We are offering 5 sessions of physiotherapy treatment and giving you the 6th session 100% Free! Saving off £40! Currently, we have discounted offer for shockwave therapy £225 for block of 3 sessions, individual sessions are £85 each.

• Do I need a GP referral before the visit?
No, you do not require a GP referral, you can self-refer yourself to Southgate Physio.

• Can I use my medical insurance for my physio treatment?
Yes, you can use your private Medical insurance for your physio treatment as long as you have a valid authorisation code.

• Do I need to bring anything with me?
It would be advisable to bring shorts if you are seeing us for lower limb problems and a vest for upper limb problems.

• Do you offer same-day appointments?
We do offer same-day appointments, but it is on a first come first basis.

• Do you offer home visits?
Yes, We do offer home visits, we have highly experienced physiotherapists working with us who also do home visits.

• Do you have disabled access?
Yes, Southgate Physio has level access to ground floor premises.

• Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, You can bring a chaperone with you when you come for your appointment.

• Do you offer physiotherapy for children or adolescents?
We offer physiotherapy for adolescents 12 and over years for musculoskeletal problems. We do not see children under this age.

• How can I pay you?
You can pay us by Visa card, Mastercard as well as most of the major banking debit or credit card. You are also welcome to pay by cheque or cash.
